The NovelTeehee Quality
I am learning so many things as I take on this challenge of having my own POD (print-on-demand) Store. When I first started last year, I did it just for fun and just hoping I will make some extra income on the side then forgot all about it. I guess you don't make money that way. Haha.
It's not till I decided to put at least 99% of my focus on this one thing instead of chasing 20 chikens. To actually keep reminding myself that this is it. I am actually working for myself now. It wasn't easy. It took me a lot to get there because of the things I had to work on like fear of failing and apparently fear of succeeding! Who does that?! Me, apparently! But I am here now. Still working on it but choosing to keep going even though the path ahead is still foggy and unknown! Funny story, I once was driving in Daly City to visit someone and it suddenly turned foggy! So what did I do? I pulled over to the side and called my brother for help! Like he can make the fog disappear! Lol. He just told me to turn on my fog lights. What a help. So I did, and very slowly drove out of the city. Of course that was then I am a better driver now... I think. But, see what I mean? Fear of the unknown! Gah!
Moving on... Discipline is definitely something I needed to learn to make sure I did certain tasks for today, like making sure my Merch is is on point so I know what brand I use for what products and their prices. Also make sure to post on Novelteehee's social media accounts. I have found this specific task daunting in the past. But now, I am starting to enjoy it a bit despite it being a little tedious. Actually, the whole thing is tedious! But I love it. I can think of an idea then bring it to life! To something tangible! That in itself is magic! And of course in the beginning my designs are still very simple. Though the main theme of my store is to just have merch that will be like thought bubbles or warning signs. But we shall see! We never know what the future will bring! But I appreciate you being here!
For the items and brands in my store... You should know that I picked brands that I think would look great when printed on, yes. But I also considered other things like material specs, quality of the products and reviews, if any, from other stores who used them. I also ordered some samples to make sure that I know the look and the feel of most of the items I am selling or printing my designs on. Because I am not only the creator but the consumer too. But of course, my taste wouldn't always fit other people's taste and I am okay with that. That just mean's NovelTeehee is not for you. We all need to find our own tribe in this bewildering world.
Anyway, I especially picked Bella Canvas because it's nice and soft, but I also remember someone giving me a Bella Canvas shirt almost 20 years ago and it's still alive till this day! So definitely durable! Here's to hoping they didn't change through the years. My other choice was AS Colour because I feel like some of the designs I made will print well in that fabric. Though their colors are very limited to monochromatic. So you will see it mostly when there is some kind of artwork or drawing I wanted printed clear. I literally spent a whole day talking to ChatGPT about the different types and brands offered in here in FW. But this is just me. I care, you know?
These days, it's cold season so I am focusing more on cozy vibes and winter hoodies. I want you all to know that I actually put A LOT of thoughts in curating the merch I decide to print on and I don't just slap my work in there and hope for the best. For the hoodies, I looked at each hoodie they offered, listed them all and the weight of the fabric to make sure that you won't be too cold this winter. Coz I hate being cold!
Our central heater is broken at home so there are days that it's colder inside the house than outside. You guys ever felt that way? Anyway, I learned the importance of the weight of the fabric so I went in on all my existing hoodies and marked them with Warmth Level on the description to help you guys decide. Obviously my favorite is Bella Canvas and it's honestly the softest hoodie I have ever had. The inside feels so nice and soft. But alas, it's not thick enough for winter like say in Chicago or Denver or snow for that matter. It's good all year round, but only in warm places like California or Florida. But definitely won't help fight blizzards so layer up, k? Well it obviously also depends on the person. I'm all bundled right now and my sister walks around with just a thin shirt and shorts jammies like it's summer outside. She's proli an alien or conceived in Hawaii or something. But for the non aliens out there, put some layers on! Flu is not cute at all especially on holidays!
In the next few weeks I will print most of my work in thicker hoodies (and other cute winter stuff). But in the meantime, please check the description for the warmth level. I don't want you getting cold.
Once again, I have babbled enough today. You should probably get used to it. Hehe. I hope you learned a little bit more about me and NovelTeehee. Which by the way if you haven't guessed is a novelty store and the teehee is mainly just spitting out trouble. Haha.
Hope you have a warm and lovely holiday! Stay cozy! Mwah!
